Limelight Game Streaming

This app streams games from a GameStream-compatible PC on your local network or the Internet (Streaming over LTE is supported, although data usage is high). After initial pairing, Limelight will launch and stream the Steam Big-Picture interface where you can launch any game that has been added to Steam (including non-Steam games/apps). Audio and video will be streamed back to your Android device. Mouse, keyboard, and controller input is sent from your Android device to the PC.

To have a good experience, you need a mid to high-end wireless router (preferably dual-band 802.11n or better) with a good wireless connection to your Android device.

PC Requirements:

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 600/700/800 series GPU (GTX 600M/700M/800M series also supported)

NVIDIA GeForce Experience (GFE) 2.0.1 or later

NVIDIA GeForce 337.50 beta driver or later

Steam enrolled in beta updates

Solid connection to wireless router (Ethernet recommended)

If your video stops for several seconds while the audio continues to play, make sure you're on the 337.50 beta driver.

Android Requirements:

Android 4.1+ (Jelly Bean)

Game controller or keyboard and mouse/touchscreen for input

Most controllers will work just fine, but the following have been tested:

Xbox 360 wired/wireless (some have D-PAD issues with Android depending on the model)

PS3 wired (with Sixaxis Enabler app) or wireless (with SixAxis Controller app)

PS4 wired via USB (wireless may also work but is untested)

Moga controller (HID mode or with MOGA Universal Driver app)

Shield integrated controller

Ouya controller on the Ouya console

Note for SixAxis users:

You'll want SixAxis in "Native Gamepad" mode for Limelight to recognize the controller. The default mapping in the current version of SixAxis has the PS3 buttons mapped incorrectly to the standard Android controller layout (buttons are rotated by one), so you'll need to fix this before the PS3 controller will work properly.

Instructions:

1. Make sure Steam is installed, updated, and enrolled in beta updates.

2. Make sure GeForce Experience is installed, up-to-date, and that you've scanned for games. If you get a "Steam not found in app list" error when trying to stream, make sure that you've added your steam directory in GFE.

3. Find your PC's IP address (look for tutorials online if this is unclear) and type it into the Android app. If you're on the same network, make sure that you're using the IP of the computer on the network and not what you get from whatsmyip.org, etc. If you're trying to stream over the Internet, you'll want to use the IP address you get from whatsmyip.org.

4. From your Android device, click the "Pair with PC" button. Accept the pairing dialog displayed on your PC.

5. Click the "Start Streaming Steam" button on the Android app

Troubleshooting tips:

1. Try disabling any firewall software running on your machine.

2. Try rebooting your machine.

Device-related issues

Users with Samsung Galaxy S3 phones running Android 4.3 experiencing crashes when trying to stream should set the "Force Software Decoding" option.

Depending on your phone/tablet, you may have a bad streaming experience if Bluetooth is active while streaming. This is a hardware issue based on how the antennas are wired.
